When JR started designing the XG11, the aim was to provide top pilots with what they needed in a radio. Numerous functional enhancements and user-friendly features ensured a radio suited to any pilot from beginner to expert. A new-generation, long-life Li-Fe battery is used, which contributes to a large reduction in transmitter weight. The charging control circuit is built into the transmitter. Using an automatic safety system, “Model Link Bind,” the receiver will not operate if the correct model has not been selected in the transmitter before flight.

Dual Modulation Spectrum System (DMSS)* 2.4GHz protocol offers a secure radio link that combines DSSS and FHSS capabilities into a wideband transmission system that includes high-speed response and high resistance against RF noise. One benefit of DMSS is the JR Intelligent Output System (IOS), which automatically selects control signals that need to be transmitted at exactly the same time and delivers the data as one complete signal frame. IOS ensures there is no time delay when commanding servos used for critical functions, such as a CCPM swash plate on a helicopter, or when operating a wing control surface with multiple servos.

Another feature of DMSS is its bi-directional communication that supplies telemetry information. Receiver voltage telemetry is built in as standard in every DMSS receiver, and add-on sensors will give you real time feedback of information from your model, such as the RPM of an aircraft propeller or helicopter rotor blades, temperature and variometer/altimeter readings.

The XG11 transmitter has a number of exciting new features, such as the Balance function, which equalizes individual servo travel on multi-servo control surfaces. With 5 adjustable points, servos can be matched not only at the center but across the entire throw of the surface. The XG11 also boasts three programmable stick position switches for mixing and an expanded Dual Rate/Expo menu that allows for up to 6 additional rate switches. The Trim Input function can allocate trim levers to change numerical values of various functions (such as program mix values) during flight. Also, the revolutionary JR Touch Select function is incorporated, which enables automatic switch selection for programmed functions with just the simple movement of the switch you want to use. No matter what kind of airplane, helicopter or glider you fly, the XG11 is designed to enhance your control and deliver an evolutionary level of precision that is genuine JR.

What is JR DMSS?

Dual Modulation Spectrum System is JR's own 2.4GHz protocol. Although a late entry to the 2.4GHz market, DMSS can be considered as the truly 'state of the art' method of providing radio control for model use. And since JR have not rushed their own 2.4 protocol into production, they have been able to incorporate the very latest techniques for 'Wideband Data Transmission' into the next generation of JR radio control sets.

DMSS combines the best features of Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) protocols. FHSS is great for avoiding interference and DSSS offers high response. JR DMSS combines both these attributes, having both frequency hopping and high response.

The JR DMSS system uses a greater than 3Mhz wide signal as compared to the majority of others which utilise a much narrower [1Mhz or less] signal.

If we know anything about spread spectrum signals, the wider base signal [3Mhz Vs 1Mhz] allows for a huge increase in noise and interference immunity performance and at the same time allowing for much faster data bandwidth/throughput.

The fact that DMSS is actually using quite a wide bandwidth signal is a huge advantage in 2.4GHz performance and it will provide superior performance over any other current 2.4GHz system that is currently available.

DMSS also offers 'Two-Way Communication' (telemetry) with receiver voltage monitoring as standard. Other types of sensor are due soon, with Temperature and RPM sensors being the next types to become available from JR in late June.

However, probably the most important thing about JR DMSS is that it is 100% pure JR, with no involvement from any other outside company. This means that JR are back in full control of product development, so they can now concentrate on doing what they do best - making what are arguably the world's best quality radio control systems.

How can I get JR DMSS?

DMSS is being built into the next generation of JR radio control sets. DMSS sets can be differentiated from earlier JR 2.4 sets by looking for the XG series nomenclature. The first XG series radio on the market was the XG7 seven-channel system, which is supplied with an RG831 receiver complete with an embedded Receiver Voltage sensor and the combined satellite receiver/telemetry module RA01T.

If I already own a JR modular transmitter, can I update it to DMSS?

At the time of writing we are still waiting for JR's instructions on how to deal with requests for DMSS updates. We will post any new information on this topic in the Support pages of our website.

Will I be able to use DSM2 receivers with my JR XG11MV transmitter?

Yes, you can purchase the optional DSM2 tranmission module and install in on your JR XG11MV transmitter.

Gyro sensitivity adjustment has been increased to 3 systems to suit 3 axis gyros. This is perfectly matched to the JR 3 Axis Gyro - the TAGS01.

A more precise Curve can be set with 5 mid-points for the throttle and Pitch control on the aircraft.
Various settings can be achieved depending on the flight condition or the pilot's desired control.

Stick position can be used as a switch for functions such as the timer or Dual rates, as well as the normal function of stick movement. Several switch setting can be arranged with stick travel, along with programmable dead band on each position.

In Airplane and Glider mode, Dual Aileron or multiple servo setups can be precisely programmed with the "Balance" function using a Multi point (5 mid point) curve. ※ACRO・GLIDER only.

Not only the Back slide levers or toggle switches, but digital trim switches can be allocated as Input devices. This flexible interface allows comfortable, easy use of the transmitter.
