This Is Futaba's TOP MODEL, This Is What All Pilots Want!!
It’s the flight system pilots have been waiting for: the perfect marriage of the incredible programming power and flexibility of the 14MZ to Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology (FASST) — the most dependable signal transmission technology ever created.
The Futaba 14MZ is in a class by itself, it doesn’t just put a new face on old technology. Examining this system is like exploring a new world, with amazing discoveries at every turn. Here are just a handful of 14MZ "firsts".
- DUAL internal processors for flawless reliability.
- PCM G3 2048 resolution for unprecedented speed and precision.
- A uniquely easy-to-use, full color, touch screen display.
Incorporate your own audio and picture files into your radio’s programming. Customize not only the job that switches perform, but also switch locations. Use the included Compact Flash card to expand on functions -- turn the built-in 30 model memory into memory for one hundred!
For ANYTHING you may someday want to do, the 14MZ is ready now—complete with a powerful, 2200mAh Lithium-Ion transmitter battery and software for airplanes, helicopters and gliders.
Dual Internal Processors
The 14MZ takes advantage of two separate internal processors for maximum efficiency and reliability. A custom Futaba processor expertly directs all functions dedicated to flight control. Input for general operating tasks -- such as set-up and programming -- is processed by Windows CE.
Real-Time Response!™
Double the resolution of PCM 1024, the 14MZ’s breakthrough PCM G3 2048 enables servos to pick up even the slightest stick movements. It’s enhanced by a frame rate that’s 40% faster than Futaba’s 9Z -- much more data transmits in a much shorter time. The result? Real-Time Response response so good, it feels like it’s happening in real time!
Note: The 14MZ can also transmit in 1024 PCM and FM/PPM as well as 2.4GHz.
Full-Color Touch Screen
Only one company in the world could make the 14MZ display it’s an engineering triumph in itself. The HVGA screen features crystal-clear 640x240 pixel resolution. It uses transflective technology (layered transparent and reflecting surfaces) plus adjustable backlighting and contrast for easy visibility, even in direct sunlight. Navigate through menus and make selections by touching the screen -- or use the Dial-N-Key button to scroll and select.
Preset Model Types
Numerous aircraft configurations are already programmed into the 14MZ -- seven wing types and three tail types. That’s a good example of the many built-in "shortcuts" that make this radio so easy to use. Just select the set-up you need!
Servo Grouping
With the 14MZ, you can group multiple servos that control a single function onto one transmitter operation -- but plug the servos themselves into different individually adjustable receiver channels (even non-consecutively) without needing a separate servo synchronizer for mixing.
Compact Flash Card Data Storage & Transfer
Increase memory to 100 models. Upload digital images of your aircraft for use as model names on the graphic display menu. Create and store audio files -- so you can fly to music or flight call sequences. The included, 32MB Compact Flash memory card makes it easy to upgrade as improved software becomes available.
Audio Recording & Playback
Use the built-in mic to record and store up to 24 voice prompts -- like "Landing gear down!" and "Full throttle!" Assign them to specific switches and functions. Then, through the built-in speaker or included earphones, you’ll hear audio confirmations of proper stick movement.
Switch Customizing
Reconfigure the eight 14MZ shoulder switches to your own preference. Just pull out a switch to remove it, and plug in the style you prefer -- tall or short, button or toggle, spring-loaded or positionable.
Stick Customizing
A tension adjustment lets you tailor stick "feel" to your own touch. Dual ball bearings on each axis and a long-life potentiometer ensure smooth, precise control.

FASST Features:
Futaba's FASST (Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology) shifts very quickly virtually liminating signal conficts and interruptions unlike other 2.4GHz systems that only stay on one or two frequencies
Dual antenna diversity enables FASST system to automatically and seamlessly select the best reception between the two antennas built into the receiver ensuring that the aircraft stays under constant control of transmitter regardless of altitude
Pre-Vision Packet Screening technology scans incoming data for potential problems and applies sophisticated error correction techniques for solid impenetrable link with model
Easy Link system features a unique ID code in the transmitter that links to the receiver insuring that receiver only follows commands from this transmitter-with over 134 million possible codes there is no chance for a conflict
When performing a ground check, the Power Down function allows modeler to reduce power from up to 50+ paces away-like retracting the antenna on a conventional transmitter
No hassle Fail Safe programmed through transmitter-no complicated set-up steps or binding plugs
Purpose built custom IC chips for key functions; no off-the-shelf IC chips
General Features:
Real-Time Response Double the resolution of PCM1024, the 14MZ's breakthrough PCM G3 2048 enables servos to pick up even the slightest stick movements. It's the closest to actual real-time response possible, for unprecedented speed and precision. The 14MZ is also backwards- compatible, so pilots can still use 1024PCM and PPM receivers
Large Color Touch Screen Only one company in the world could make the 14MZ display...it's an engineering triumph in itself. The HGVA screen features crystal clear 640x240 pixel resolution. It uses transflective technology (layered transparent and reflective surfaces) plus adjustable backlighting and contrast for easy visibility, even in direct sunlight. Menu navigations and selections can be made by touching the screen-or use the Dial-N-Key button to scroll and select
Dual Internal Processors The 14MZ takes advantage of two separate internal processors for maximum efficiency and reliability. A custom Futaba processor expertly directs all functions dedicated to flight control. Input for general operating tasks-such as set-up and programming-is processed by Windows CE.
Pre-Programmed Mixes Numerous aircraft configurations are already programmed in. Just select the needed setup
Servo Grouping Multiple servos controlling a single function can be set up through the transmitter and then plugged into differently adjustable receiver channels (even non-consecutively) without needing a separate servo synchronizer for mixing.
Switch Customizing The eight shoulder switches can be reconfigured to your own preference-just pull out switch and plug in the preferred style, tall or short, button or toggle, spring-loaded or positionable.
R6014HS Receiver; Futaba advanced technology allows this receiver to be the first 2.4GHz receiver able to utilize all 14 channels. Newly supported normal and high speed modes. The transmitter also includes a built-in mic for recording and storing up to 24 voice prompts, such as "Landing gear down" and "Full throttle!" These prompts can be assigned to specific switches and functions so that audio confirmations of proper stick movement are heard through the transmitter's speaker. |
Comments:
For a true mode change on this radio it must be sent to the Futaba service center, as the sticks will need to be recalibrated.
